What We Do

At the end of fourth and fifth grade, we have an election for who will be a CM (Conflict Manager) during the next year. If you are picked at the end of fourth grade, you will be a CM in fifth and sixth grade. If you are picked at the end of fifth grade, you will be a CM in sixth grade. When you are picked close to the end of the year, you go through training until the end of the year. You get pulled out of class two half days for training and then go out on duty with older CMs. About three times a year, we have a "CM Event". We do fun activities and have a potluck type lunch while music is playing.

Each day, eight CMs go out on duty. At 11:30 (when the kindergartners get dismissed for recess) a pair of fifth grade CMs and a pair of sixth grade CMs go out on duty. At 11:55, another pair from fifth and sixth comes out to replace the others. The 11:30 CMs eat lunch after duty and the 11:55 CMs eat before duty.
