5. This girl has dipped the deckle and mold into the paper pulp, and is checking to make sure the pulp layer is even. The deckle and mold are two rectangular wooden pieces for making paper. The mold is put on the bottom, with a small piece of screen stretched over it. The top is a rectangular wooden frame called the deckle. The deckle must fit over the mold.

 

6. In this picture, they have taken the deckle off, and dumped the paper pulp on a piece of cloth.
