Pongo pygmaeus

The orangutan can get up to 4.5 ft or 1.4 m tall.

The female can weigh up to 40 kg (90 lb).The male weigh's around 100 kg (220 lb).

Shaggy coat of long reddish brown hair. Adults have reddish blond beards and mustaches.

Fruit,leaves,bark, and bird's eggs are basically what they eat.

They live in forests on the islands of Bomeo and Sumatra.

• By the time baby orangutans are 4 they can select their own food.
