They are the largest of the four living species.

Description

It has a short bulky body, with short legs, probiscis ,and small eyes, similar to a pig.

Food

The tapir is a herbivore. It eats leaves, fruit, and other vegatation. It prefers browsing, both in and out of water, and also grazes.

Habitat

Grassy areas, and dense forests in South and central America, also Asia.

Other Facts

The tapirs belong to the same order as horses and rhinos(because it has the simple stomach), not to the order of a pig.
