Medieval Holidays

In Medieval times, the main holidays were Mayday, Midsummers' Eve, Harvest Home, Christmas, and Easter. Another holiday was sometimes claimed when a prince or princess was born. These holidays were celebrated by taking time off from work to go to banquets, special church services, and other festivities. Another thing to do on holidays was to attend or participate in a tournament, where men would joust each other to see who could knock the other off his horse first.
