The Throne

The throne is where the king sits. Thrones were made as comfortable as possible for the king. Some kings spent more time there than others. Richard II of England once sat on his throne for four hours just to watch his courtiers kneel and bow to him. By 1399, he became so unpopular that he was “thrown” off the “throne!”
