The oldest person in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records was Jeanne Louise Calment until her death in August of 1997 at the age of 122.  Here is a story about her on the Wowzone website.

Being really old is actually good, because it shows that you've taken good care of your body, given it calcium, vitamins, minerals, everything it needs.  So, no, being really old is not bad for your health or you!
