JAMES COOK (1728-1779)
James Cook lived from 1728 to 1779. He was a great explorer because he was the first to lead a sailing expedition around the world successfully. He explored parts of the Pacific Ocean and the Far East that no European had seen before. He used science and mathematics to help him with cartography and produce accurate maps of areas that were unknown before his time. |
