This web site was created in 1998 by a group of fourth and fifth grade students. We entered a contest called ThinkQuest Jr. This contest allowed us to create an informative web site which kids in other schools could use. Our team chose to do a site about important explorers. Our work took place at Sherwood School in Highland Park, Illinois. Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Hansen guided us through this project. Our ThinkQuest Jr. team gave up some recesses and stayed after school to complete theproject. We split up our work by making each team member responsible for finding the most interesting explorers of a chosen time period. We did research, collected pictures, and finally made pages for each explorer. We had several meetings to decide what we wanted to include in our web page. We chose to do a Quiz, Timeline, Hall of Fame, Nominate an Explorer, and a page of links to other web sites. Team members include Rebecca, Rachel,
Bryce, and Tim (fifth graders) and Kevin and Anna (fourth
graders). We are very proud of our work and accomplishments,
and we hope you enjoy it. |
