Chopin's Life
Frederic Chopin was born in Zelazowa Wola, Poland. His family was very musical. When he was young, he would cry out in joy at the sweet sounds of the piano. His entire life revolved around the piano. As most famous musicians are, he was a prodigy. He wrote his first published song at the age of seven. He was sensitive in his feelings and his eating habits. He would get sick at the smell of cigarette smoke. He disliked wine and coffee, but he loved milk. He and his sister were very close. Together they started a newspaper full of funny stories (it was actually his diary). Chopin liked all music, but he especially liked Mozart and Bach. When he died, his last words were "Play Mozart in memory of me." He was very patriotic to the country of Poland. Everywhere he went, he carried with him a cup of Polish dirt. Legend has it that he was buried with the cup.
