Later Life

In 1707 Bach arrived in Mulhausen for one year He arrived the day after a fire arose in town and everybhaussmann-portrait.jpg (10933 bytes)ody was in confusion. He was paid to write music with a salary of 85 Gulden a year along with food and shelter just beyond the walls of the city. Later he worked for the king and composed sonatas and other compositions. He married his cousin named Maria Barbara and had 7 children. In 1729 he composed his first passions. Later he went on and composed 250 sonatas.In his old age he became blind and had an eye operation that failed. At age 65 he died.
