George Gershwin fell in love with music when he
was young. He saw one of his classmates play a classical peice on voilin. And was very
impressed. His mom bought a piano, and he took lessons. Later, at the age of fifteen, he
quit school and took a job as a plugger. He played music owned by the company to persuade
customers to buy them. Later, he met a lyricist, and together, they wrote
"Swanee."
