It is not known for sure why orcasjump and breech. They might just be playing or showing off theirincredible strength. Orcas are active, but do rest sometimes. Whenthey do rest, they stay together as a pod close to the surface. Arest can last from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, butnever what we would call a good night's sleep.
