Imagine if the world was ruled by the gods and goddesses. That's what the Ancient Egyptians believed.

The main god was Ra or Re. His son, Osiris, was the god of goodness or the green god until he was killed by his brother Set and became lord of the underworld. His son Anubis the Jackal headed god of embalming leads the dead to the underworld.

Two goddesses guarded the tombs of pharohs. They were the sisters Nepthtys, and Isis. They would be carved on the tomb or painted on the wall. They were pictured as women with wings.
