THE HISTORY OF PYRAMIDS

The first pyramids were shallow pits. The Egyptians would fill the pit with the unclothed body and anything from money to food. They would put things that they would enjoy
in the afterlife like a spear or a favorite tool [toy]. The hot dry sand preserved the body and the organs. Stones and sand would cover the grave. Most common Egyptians continued to best buried in pits. Pharaohs and their families were given special treatment.

Nobles were wrapped in linen cloth with resin poured over the fabric. The nobles were placed in a coffin. Then the coffin was placed in a slightly deeper pit then the regular people would be placed in. They were still buried with treasure and jewelry. The problem with this method was that the bodies decayed because they didn't dry.

The Egyptians then discovered mummification. The organs were taken out and put in jars . the people were then cleaned and dried. Spices  and 16 to 80 layers of  linen cloth were placed on the body. The body was then put in a tomb with markings about who they were and what they did . They were then put in a more sophisticated pyramid which is called a "mastaba".  It was a rectangular shape made out of mud brick with a flat roof and sloped sides.

The next pyramids was a step pyramid. It was like a triangle  but had steps. this pyramid was a lot like the mastaba it was almost solid a except for the little tonal about a hundred feet under ground. This pyramid was the first one created start in the mazes of under ground. They started doing this because three was tomb raiders [tomb stealers].

The final pyramid was a straight triangle. these pyramids were the most famous. One of the most famous of these kind of pyramids was the pyramid of king Khafre with the great sphinx graded it . The sphinx was a man which a hart of a lion. that gardens the pyramid.
