It was so dry that the leaves fell off in July.In most years 8 or 9 inches fell in between July and October. There was not any rain since July.Now it was Sunday, October 8th.The plants were brown,the swamps were dried up.It was very hot day after day. The wind was constantly changing direction and speed. Often times the wind speed was from 25 m.p.h to gale force.
A mircle occured at 11:00 p.m. Monday. It started to drizzle. By 3:00 a.m.,Tuesday, it was raining.This miracle stopped the fire, and the drought was over.
