The Clydesdale is cold blooded. They are draft horses. Clydesdale and Shires are the tallest draft horses in the world. They can stand form 16 to 18 hands high. They weigh 1,600 to 2,200 pounds.
Clydesdale can be bay, chestnut, black, roan, or gray. Bay is the most popular color. Face and ankle markings are usually on the horse. Clydesdale used as a team in a show must have the same markings.
Like all horses they need food and water. Hay and grain are the most common food. Hay is grass or alfalfa. Grain are oats, wheat, barley, and corn.
