Aircraft Carrier Aircraft

Aircraft carriers have many aircraft. Their planes are their main weapon and show all their power. Different aircraft carriers are used for different uses so they should have different aircraft. Anti-submarine aircraft carriers have jump jets and helicopters. Assault aircraft carriers have many helicopters. Attack and defense aircraft carriers have many different kinds of aircraft. They can have F-14 Tomcats, F/A-18 Hornets, EA-6B Prowlers, A-6E Intruders, E-2C Hawkeye, S-3A Viking, and SH-3G/H Sea King helicopters. These planes are the Aircraft Carrier’s main weapons.

F-14 Tomcats are the main defense planes. They protect an Aircraft Carrier from incoming enemy planes. This plane can shoot at many targets at one time. They are an interceptor.

F/A-18 Hornets are planes that attack bases. The bases they attack are mainly bases that could send attack groups at an Aircraft Carrier.

EA-6B Prowlers are planes that jam radar. They jam the radar of aircraft and bases. It is a type of A-6.

A-6E Intruders are planes that bomb bases. They can bomb when the pilot is not able to see the base, because of bad weather or at night.

E-2C Hawkeyes are early warning planes. They have a big radar on top. They find incoming enemy aircraft. They also bring the interceptors like the F-14 Tomcat to the enemy aircraft.

S-3A Vikings are anti-submarine planes. Their job is to protect an Aircraft Carrier from submarines.

SH-3G/H Sea King helicopters are also used for anti-submarine work. It uses different equipment than the S-3A Viking. They are also used for rescuing people from planes that have been destroyed.

All of these planes work together to carry out an Aircraft Carrier’s mission and to protect an Aircraft Carrier from enemies.
