We sneaked in to tell you these definitions!!

 

Keep - The strong point of the castle, used to live in and store valuables in

Motte - A steep sided hill the timber castle's keep sat on

Moat - A ditch that was filled with water, the ditch surrounded the walls of the castle

Medieval - From the 1000s to the late 1400s and early 1500s

Siege - When the attacking army surrounded the castle and stopped the supplies from coming to the castle

Draw bridge - Protects the castle from intruders

Walls - Protects the castle from intruders

Bailey - The open area of the castle

Towers - Helps the gards of the castle see in truders

Great Hall - The dining building of the castle
