Indy Grab As you are going downhill, you hit a jump and bend down and grab the part of the snowboard that is between your feet.

Method Grab When you are going downhill, you hit a jump and then bend backward to grab the part of the snowboard that is between your feet.

Misty Flip A 360 degree front flip.

Nose Grab You bring your feet up to the right side and grab the front tip of your snowboard.

Tail Grab You bring your feet up to the right side and grab the back tip of your snowboard.

Carbon Fiber It is a material like fiberglass but it is stronger and more expensive.

Alpine Snowboard This type of snowboard is stiffer so that it can go faster.

Catch An Edge When an edge of the board digs into the snow. When this happens you usually fall.

Fall Line The straightest way down a hill. If you let a ball roll down a hill it would go down the fall line.

Regular-Foot Snowboarding with your left foot in the front.

Sideslip Sliding down a hill with your snowboard sideways or perpendicular to the fall line.

Skating One foot is attached to the snowboard and you are pushing with your other foot and sliding.

Skidding When going down hill you plow the snow with your board.

T-Bar A pole attached to a tow rope that you grab onto when going uphill.

Traverse Going across the mountain from one side to another.

Freestyle The type of snowboarding that involves turns, spins, and tricks.

Alpine Snowboarding that is done for speed.

Safety Strap A strap that goes around your leg and attaches to your board or binding. This helps to keep your board from sliding away from you.
