When the end of the day comes the fisherman take all the fish to the processing plant were they are sold by the pound. Prices vary greatly from year to year. When people process fish, they use many different machines and tools to do the job. They carefully remove the eggs. The eggs are processed and sold to Japan as expensive salmon roe. The people who work at a plant are paid hourly. They often work long hours and are allowed several breaks during a shift.
