Experiences

Since starting this project, we wanted to write what we learned from having Elijah in our class. Elijah wanted to also share a recent experience he had. Here are our thoughts.

My Experience by Elijah

Tustmena 200

my sister and me met Bill cotter. He asked me if I wanted to ride in his sled I said "yes!"

Before I got in the sled a man from tv news come over and asked me questions he told me that I would be on tv.

I sat down in the sled and my mom helped me put on my gloves.

Elijah getting a dog sled ride.

He said hut" and the dogs ran fast. It was fun. I was happy to ride in the sled It was Bumpy. people were clapping for me.

Caleb's experience in the class:

When I was little I was scared of people who had Down syndrome . But now I'm in fourth grade with a kid who has it. His name is Elijah, he is is 11 years old. Now I help people who have it. I see them at the pool, wrestling, stores, and school. My parents barely know about Down syndrome, but I tell them what I learned.

Chelain's experience in the class:

Hi. My name is Chelaine. Since my class started this project I found out that I have a cousin that has Down syndrome. My cousin's name is Lisa. Lisa is only 12 years old. The reason I am doing this project is because there is a student with Down syndrome, his name is Elijah. Elijah has problems like not being able to write as well as you. He does not know how to spell as well as you. He has a bigger tongue. He can not talk as clearly as you, but Elijah likes sports like you. He loves to play on the tire swing, he loves to play tag. He has a lot of friends in school like you.
