Before going outside, you need to be prepared. When you play a winter sport you can get overheated, so it's important not to wear too many clothes. The best thing to do is wear layers; if you get too hot or cold you can always take off a layer or put one on.
If you live in a cold climate you will probably have the following types of clothing:
Some sports require special clothing. If you are playing hockey, you need to wear protective equipment that includes pads and special gloves. Skiers wear special boots that attach to your skis; snowboarders also wear special boots that can be put into bindings. Everyone who plays a winter sport should also wear the safety equipment for that sport. For instance, snowmachining requires helmets, and many more skiers and snowboarders are starting to wear helmets.
