I am the cyber spirit of Manteo. I am a member of the Croatoan Native American tribe.

I was born on Croatoan Island. It is an island that is south of Roanoke Island. I tried to be a friend to the new people who came to our land. I went to England with the white man and told them about my land.

When the colonists came to our land my people tried to help them. We taught them how to fish and hunt. We also made the colonists weirs. They learned how to use the weirs for fishing. The soil was very sandy and not very good for planting crops so we gave them food.

We had a big problem with the colonists. We were not very happy when John White sent his men out to kill Roanoacs Indians and by mistake killed one of our people. This made us very angry and we decided not to give the colonists any more food.
