Biking

In the summer, kids go biking for fun. You can use regular bikes in Anchorage to ride on hundreds of miles of trails. The Coastal Trail goes around the outside of Anchorage. It goes by Westchester Lagoon and through Kincaid Park where you can see moose and other animals. If you come to Alaska, you can rent bikes in downtown Anchorage and get on the Coastal Trail from there. The same trails are used for cross-country skiing in the winter. Lots of people have mountain bikes and go biking in the wilderness just outside Anchorage. In the winter, people go biking with studded tires so they don't slip on the ice.
