Tiger

   The tiger belongs to the family Felidae.  It is the largest member of its family.  The tiger's scientific name is Panthera tigris altaica.  The tiger lives in Africa and Asia.

    The rare siberian tiger is from 4.6 tp 9.2 ft. (1.4 to 2.8 m) long, not including the tail, which is 27 to 37 in. (69 to 95 cm) long.  This tiger weighs 400 to 675 lbs. (180 to 306 kg).  The bengal tiger is about 10 ft. (3 m) long including the tail.  It weighs 400 to 569 lbs. (180 to 258 kg).  Most tigers have a black and orange striped coat.

    The tiger hunts many other animals.  Some of them are deer, fish, cattle, and frogs.
