Cheetah

   The cheetah belongs to the Felidae family.  The scientific name of the cheetah is Acinonyx jubatus.   Cheetahs can be found in northern Afghanistan and also Iran.

    The adult cheetah weighs 110 to 130 lbs. (50 to  60 kg).  The cheetah has a small head, but a long body and legs.  The length of the head and body, but without the tail is about 3.6 to 4.9 ft. (1.1 to 1.5 m).

    Cheetahs live on the open plains of tropical Africa.  The cheetah mainly eats antelope.

    The fastest speed a cheetah can reach is about 68 mph (110 km/h).
