We became interested in this project because we live near an area where the glaciers stopped and started to melt. This makes the usually flat land have hills and valleys. The winter is the perfect time to see the way the usually flat land of the mid-west has been changed by the glaciers.
All these pictures were taken in the Palos Sag Area near Chicago, Illinois.

There are many hills and valleys in this area which is highly uncommon for this particular area. These hills and valleys were created by the glaicers. |

Many people think that glaciers brought pine seeds to this particular area. Pine trees are not common in this deciduous forest area. |

Glaiers dropped rocks such as this one when they were traveling over this area. Glaciers were full of these kinds of rocks. They could even drop huge boulders. |
