Climbing
By Angeline Tiamson

Climbing
the mountaintop in my mind's eye
Climbing
imagining the view I'll see, and sigh
Climbing
Rocks everywhere wanting me to fall
Climbing
waiting to hear God's call
Climbing
getting tired now, and I see
Climbing
maybe this hike isn't meant to be
Climbing
Sweat pouring down my face
Climbing
Asking myself why I'm in this place
Climbing
rocks hitting me on the head
Climbing
asking God, "Why aren't I dead?"
Climbing
through the rock dust my eyes spot
Climbing
The reason why I've been through this lot.
Climbing
Its the wonderful view
Climbing
being able to see Heaven's hue
Climbing
this is my personal mountain
Climbing
getting rid of my sins
Climbing
this scene is in my mind
Climbing
And I'm climbing this mountain
All the time.
