I Remember You
By Elena Radcliff

I remember you -
You were one of the ones
Who I could call a friend -
One of the few.
You were someone
Who remembered me at parties
Invited me to movies
Gave me a hug hello
And a cheery wave goodbye.
When everyone else forgot
You remembered:
When others had better things to do,
You stayed.
Ah yes,
Though I can't remember their names,
Their shallow faces,
I remember you.
