This poem, written by Kirsi Ayre, is a spiritual poem that talks about inner strength and the world. It is also listed in our spirituality poetry section.
The world will try to change you
In more ways than one;
It can take away all you have,
And then leave you with none.
You can be beat, you can be hurt
The World turns that way.
But to beat the world you have to prove
Your endurance will always stay.
Endurance is the key
to everlasting peace
to own and to have, to share and to love,
So never lose your lease.
Because the sun will rise and fall
As happiness can too
Try to keep those happy thoughts on comin'
It helps us through and through
Pure happiness can't keep us from
Our miseries in life
But learn, as we always do,
To deal with the strife.
Then out we come with greater peace
One only from on high
Then we'll share our love with friends
And help them as we try.
So loving friends, you will find
Have qualities in life
They keep you happy through tough times
And deal with the strife.
And endurance, how they manage,
To deal with the pain
Is to find another friend in need
And help them through the rain.
So as you are here reading
I hope you will find out
The magic behind the mirror
Is through turning it about
Happiness cannot survive
In a lonely soul not living
Stand tall, stand proud, and don't give in
Happiness comes by serving.
