Propellers

Propellers are similar in shape to a airfoil. The primary job of a propeller is to convert horse power (Usually Called "Brake Horse power") from an engine crankshaft into thrust. Like an airfoil a propeller creates lift by using the curved area and flat area. While spinning the propeller creates lift forward similar to an airfoil creating lift upward. This action "pulls" the aircraft forward.
