Pandas live in the high mountains of China and eat at the pace of a turtle (that's fairly fast). They spend about 12 hours a day eating. When they eat, they sit in a sitting position like humans. They are very picky eaters. Even though there are 25 different types of bamboo that Pandas will eat, most Pandas will only eat 9 of these. Because of its large appetite, it eats about 40 lbs a day. Pandas can have 2 babies but only one survives. The reason for this is that it is really hard to raise 1 baby panda and 2 will be even harder.

The Panda is a fascinating animal. The Panda is one of the worlds most threatened animals. Scientist predict that in the year 2025 there will be 5,000-0 Pandas left on earth.

There are a few reasons why the panda is endangered. One reason is that when they try to help the pandas by breeding them, they can't breed them for as long as they are supposed to because their breeding season is March to May. Another reason is their location. Pandas are banned from some areas in China which contain their natural habitat. That means there is not enough space for the panda. The third reason is that when humans put pandas into captivity , the pandas will become dependent on humans and will not go back into the wild.

Humans have tried many many things to try to save the panda but have been unsuccessful. They have passed a law that protected pandas and other endangered species. The law states that they can not be traded or over hunted. Also, the habitat of the panda has been turned into a reserve to protect them.
