People were spraying the pesticide DDT that causes the eggs shell to thin and crack open before the right time so the babies die. But the United States banned DDT so it cannot kill the Bald Eagles anymore. The Bald Eagle lays 2 to 3 eggs each year. Year after year the Bald Eagle returns to the nest it built itself. |
