..A short introduction for genetics..

Welcome to the wonderful world of genetics! In this area, we will give you a brief introduction to gentics and why it is important. I will explain in more detail during the later chapters.

First of all, you need to know what genetics is! Well genetics is not a thing,

but a type of science which involves things, like heredity, cloning, etc.

So, one thing you study in genetics in something called a gene, which is

the building block of organisms' traits. Now you may be thinking, "What are

these things made of?". Genes are made of a chemical called DNA (see

"Operation of DNA" for more details). So what does DNA do exactly? Well, it

can be used to inherit things, like eye color or hair color, and ear shape.
