Flexibility is how stretchy you are. This means to be able to bend and move in different ways.

Benefits

  1. Stretching is a way to wake up your muscles, it pulls them to their longest point.
  2. It is important to stretch before and after exercising.
  3. Flexible muscles don't get hurt as easily

Ways to Stretch

  1. Stand and reach up high
  2. Press and hold neck to each side
  3. Do arm circles
  4. Stretch calves by standing with one leg slightly forward, bending the front leg, keeping the back leg straight. Be sure to switch legs.
  5. Stretch sides doing side bends
  6. Backs of legs can be stretched by placing hands on floor, one leg bent with the stretched straight behind you. Try to push your ankle to the floor on your leg that is straight. Switch legs.
  7. Stretch your back by putting hands and knees on floor with back flat. Pull stomach in and arch back up. Then sit back on knees; hands reach out in front to stretch buttocks.
  8. Stretch backs of legs by sitting up straight, back against the wall. Lean forward. Behind against the wall. Let legs fall apart. This will stretch inner thighs.
