Aluminum may be endlessly recycled. That means the can may be recycled an infinite number of times. Recycling is important because aluminum comes from a non-renewable resource. How do you recycle aluminum? First, you have to rinse out the can so you won’t contaminate the whole batch with something that was in it. Next, flatten it. You can either let a recycling truck pick it up, or you can take it to the recycling center. Read on to find out what an aluminum process goes through before it becomes something else.

First, all the stuff in the aluminum section is loaded onto a conveyor belt. The products on the belt goes through large magnets to make sure it isn’t steel. Then, all the aluminum goes into the shredder. The shredder turns the aluminum into little chips. Afterwards, it goes through a series of pipes into a big, hot furnace. In the furnace, the little chips are melted down and poured into molds. The last step is to let it cool off, and you can get more cans, pie tins, foil, aluminum sheets, etc!

Not only is recycling aluminum good for nature, but if you take it an aluminum center, you can get money!
