About Our Site

Resources on Earth are running low. Especially energy resources such as coal and fossil fuels. Oil, even, is running low. In the following pages, you will find out about some alternative ways of energy.

There are some forms of energy that will never be used up. For example, solar power, hydroelectric power, and wind power cannot be used up. Find out more about the different sources of energy we use.

Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels include petroleum, coal, and natural gas. We are using up our supplies of these fuels very quickly.

Nuclear Power
Nuclear power is a new source of energy, but it is dependent on our uranium supplies, which will last a lot longer than our fossil fuels. A major problem of nuclear power is the disposal of nuclear waste.

Solar Power
The sun provides us with continuous energy everyday. Sunlight can be used to generate electricity.

Wind Power
By the oceans and seas, winds can be very strong and they can be used to generate electricity too.

Hydroelectric Power
Hydroelectric power is generated when water runs through turbines. These are mainly used in rivers and by oceans.
