You can find the height of a tree by measuring. There is another way to do it.

Shadow Ratio Method

On a sunny day, push a straight stick upright into the soil. Measure the height of the stick above the ground, then measure its shadow. Now measure the shadow of a tree from the base of the trunk to the "top" of the shadow. Use the following formula:

H = (S * h)/s

H = height of tree
S = Shadow length of tree
h = height of stick
s = shadow length of stick

Now, try solving this problem:
You have a 3 feet tall stick that casts a 2 feet tall shadow. A tree nearby has a shadow of 24 feet. How tall is the tree? Tree
