Presidents:

The three presidents in the 1960's were John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson , and Dwight D. Eisenhower.

 

Dwight D. Eisenhower was born October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas. He died March 28, 1969. He was a Republican. He married Maria Geneva Doud. His children were Dwight, and John. His nickname was Ike. He was the 34th president.

John F. Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was a Democrat. He got married to Jacqueline Lee Bouvier. His nick name was JFK. He had 3 children Caroline,and John Jr and Patrick. Patrick died as a baby. John Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963. He was the 35th president.

Lyndon B. Johnson became president after JFK was killed. He was born August 27, 1908 in Stonewall, Texas. He was a Democrat. He married Claudia Alta. Taylor [Lady Bird]. His children were Lynda Bird, and Luci. His nickname was LBJ. He was the 36th president.

Music:

In the 60's there was a great yearn for rock music. Some of the favorite musical groups were The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, The Supremes. A popular song was Ring My Bell.

Heroes:

Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong traveled to the moon in the 1960's. The first person who touched the moon was Neil Armstrong. He put a flag there to symbolize America's accomplishment on July 30, 1968.

Games:

In the 1960's the newest game was '' Twister.'' It was a fun game where your feet and arms twist around and get in a really weird positions. There was also a new toy called a "Barbie." You could put clothes on her and brush her hair,and her teeth , or you could change her clothes a million times a day.

Major Inventions:

In the 1960's they invented an invention to reduce background sound and also made the rocket to go to space and in the 60's the first person touched the moon.
