The Park
Do you think deserts are dry, sandy places where nothing can live? Well,
in some cases you're right. But in the case of Arches National Park,
which is in a desert, the scenerio is totally different. Arches National
Park, which contains over 2,000 arches
and windows, is home to over 39
different kinds of mammals. These include the cute cottontail rabbits,
the not so cute rattesnakes, mule deer, kit fox, and five different
species of lizards. Except for the rattlesnakes, many visitors can see the
animals mentioned above if they take that leap of faith and get out of
their cars.
Weather
Here's an updated weather map of Arches National Park...
Even though Arches National Park is alive with wildlife, it is hard to
get away from the fact that it is still a desert. Temperatures can get up
to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 degrees Celcius), so bring lots of water!
Arches National Park recommends to bring at least 1 gallon (4 liters)
of water per person per day! However, if you're traveling to Arches
during the winter, be prepared for temperatures before zero degress
Fahrenheit.
