Old Faithful Geyser is one among almost 300 geysers in Yellowstone National Park. It is unique because its intervals between eruptions average 77 minutes. This is why it is named "Old Faithful"! The geyser spews betwwen 100 and 200 feet high for 1 1/2 to 5 minutes. Minerals such as sulfur and iron sometimes add yellow and purple tones on the ground at the mouth of the geyser. Old Faithful is definitely a spectacle to see!
