River Day

River Day was started 6 years ago to reflect on the value of the river. This River Day, the focus is on the "Wonderful WaterFalls," since the waterfalls are such a beautiful part of the river. So have some fun and explore the "Wonderful WaterFalls" of the Cuyahoga River Valley. River Day features 6 unique and beautiful Waterfalls.

Blue Hen Falls, previously called Brewery Falls for a company who used the water, has a fifteen foot drop over a sandstone and undercut shale. Butter Milk Falls is just downstream from Blue Hen Falls. This fall drops over a steep shale cliff dropping into frothy water. Brandywine Falls is the highest fall in Cuyahoga Valley. In 1990, the park service built a walkway so that spectators could catch a bird's eye glimpse of the falls. Bridal Veil Falls flows over another bowl shaped shale formation which looks like a veil's train. The Falls That Time Forgot are delicate and beautiful and have an interesting story behind them.
