Native Village

All the Native Americans, except the young women, lived in a village just outside the mission walls. Their houses were usually the same as their original tribal* houses. They slept and ate here, but that is all. The rest of the day was spent working or in church. The padres rarely came to the village; usually only to visit the sick.
