Soap Making
Yes, fat was indeed a useful thing at the missions.
Not only was it used for making candles, it was also
used for making soap. Exhibited to the left is a cow
hide. As part of its preparation process, the fat was
scraped off the opposite side of the hide, and it was
used for a variety of things, including the making of
soap and candles.
