Welcome to the Chinese Calligraphy website.  This website was created by elementary school children to introduce other young people to the art of Chinese calligraphy.  We hope you enjoy learning about this ancient art form.

   China is the world's oldest ongoing civilization.  It is known for many beautiful forms of art- silk painting, pottery, paper cutting, kite making, and calligraphy.  It was calligraphy that captured our imaginations because the words evolved from pictures.      

   This website contains information on the tools used by a calligrapher, how to form the characters, and how the characters represent words.  We have also included facts about China.   We hope that you visit all of the pages, and enjoy Chinese calligraphy as much as we do.  Thank you.
