Johannes Brahms

1833-1897

 

Johannes Brahms was a German composer born in Hamburg. Johannes Brahms held emotional and sentimental concertos, symphonies and chamber music. Brahms was very patient. He spent ten years working on his first symphony.When his symphony was finally published it had a great affect on the music world.

Brahms had sister and a younger brother. His father was a poor musician and he grew up in the bad part of the city. His mother was a major influence in his life. She was always encouraging him and his studies.

On April 3, 1897 Brahms tragically died. He was a tough humorous person. He had a somewhat messy appearance.
