NORTHERN SHRIKE. It's about the size of a robin, has a hooked beak, and small curved talons. It has a black mask over the eyes, black wings and tail, the rest of him is grey. Shrikes are predators and feed on birds and small mammals. They don't use their talons to kill but they kill their prey by biting into the spine behind the head. They tear their food apart after placing it in crotches of limbs to help hold it. They also mimic the calls of other birds, they are fast and they catch other birds in flight.
