QUAKING ASPEN. Quaking aspen is closely related to the cottonwood tree, but is considerably smaller. Has smooth bark that is white with a green tint. Leaves twist and turn in the slightest breeze, so they photosynthesize on either side. They grow well in forests and on mountainsides.
