DEFENSIVE PLAY
The tackling position is use whenever you want to stop the player in control of the ball from dong what he wants to with the ball, or taking the ball away from him. . Someone is dribble down the field so you tackle him.

When to Tackle

Your a defender and you need to get the ball away from the guy with the ball possession.

1. You move in against the dribbler to trap the ball. Put your body in a crouch forward position to avoid being pushed of balance.

2. Your trapping leg should swing in forcefully and quickly, jamming the ball between the dribbler's leg and the trapper's leg. Now you have stopped your opponent from playing the ball.

3. Next, put your shoulder in the way of the opponent to get him off balance.

4. Put your foot under the ball and lift it quickly. Use your body like a wall between the opponent so you can free the ball.

5. Now you have possession of the Ball!!!

Problems to avoid in tackling

1. Going in gingerly for the ball. To get the ball you must be fast , quick, and aggressive.

2. Never lung at the opponent to get the ball. The play should be well planned from a balanced position.

3. The tackle must use his shoulder behind the charge otherwise he will not have good balance to support his tackle.
